INITIATIVES AND PARTNERSHIPS
THE ASA UNITED STUDENT MAGAZINE
Launching in Spring/Summer 2022
The magazine was created to empower and amplify undergraduate student voices. We intend to display a wide variety of content, including but not limited to fiction and non-fiction essays, research, artwork, photography, poems, and play-writing. The nature of your work is not required to be related to Armenia, nor do you yourself have to be of Armenian descent in order to be eligible.
Publication is an impressive achievement that can be reflected in your resume/CV, regardless of career path. The deadline for submissions is March 1st, 2022.
BIRTHRIGHT ARMENIA
What are you doing this summer? The Birthright Armenia & ASA United Summer Program is a new pilot program targeting undergrad students interested in hand-on volunteer opportunities that aim to assist families in need, many of them displaced from Artsakh, through vital community service projects.
Apply today to spend 1 month engaging in volunteer work that will really help make a difference in the community, while also exploring the dynamic and vibrant city of Vanadzor, and experiencing Armenian hospitality, culture, history, and cuisine first-had.
HYE HOPES
We have been working leaders of Hye Hopes, a new organization which seeks to immediately provide equitable educational opportunities for displaced youth in Armenia. They have established a tutoring program as a volunteer opportunity for any interested students to participate in. Tutoring will be completely remote, so you can volunteer from anywhere around the world!
ARMENIAN WOUNDED HEROES FUND
In July 2020, in response to Azeri aggression in Artsakh, Armenian Student Associations across the nation (ASA United) unified in a fundraising initiative to support the Armenian Wounded Heroes Fund (AWHF). The AWHF provides much needed medical equipment, PPE, and infrastructure such as clean water and kitchens to the young Armenian soldiers defending Armenia.
Just $35, the cost of one first-aid kit, can mean the difference between life and death for one Armenian soldier. While our fundraising campaign is over, we continue to implore people to donate to their fund, since we never know when the next shots will be fired.
